Do you have a recipe that includes pears and beets?
Jesse's Answer:
Unfortunately, no I don't have a pear and beet juice recipe.
I do not combine fruits and vegetables except apples with vegetables.
When juicing, I prefer to incorporate good food combining principles to help maximize the digestion / assimilation of the nutrients.
A pear / beet drink can also be high in sugar and while okay occasionally, ultimately we want to drink juice that is lower in sugars because otherwise we can begin to spike our blood sugar levels (glycemic index – GI) too high.
Often when we begin juicing, we need recipes or combinations which are sweeter tasting to satisfy our taste buds. But we must really force ourselves to drink, enjoy and appreciate the juices which are lower in sugar so we don't cause sugar related health problems as a result of juicing.
One reason why I created my book and web site is because I wanted to promote something I call responsible juicing
.
This is a term I coined because I really want to emphasize the importance of being aware of how juicing can affect your body, especially in a negative way if done in a reckless manner. I really want to encourage people to juice responsibly so they get maximum benefits from juicing.
Have you been wanting to do hatha yoga (stretching) but have found it either too difficult or you are not that flexible? If yes, and even if no, watch Jesse do some pure hatha yoga routines.
Unlike flow yoga
, each pose in pure or traditional hatha yoga is held for a few minutes. While holding the pose, you focus the mind on the stretch. When you focus the mind, that's when you find silence.
Jesse is not flexible — never has been and probably never will be flexible like others. But it doesn't matter. In pure hatha yoga, how flexible you are makes no difference. It's all about loving the pose and focussing the mind on the stretch.
If you want to learn pure hatha yoga, now you can by following Jesse on a series of hatha yoga routines.
