I unfortunately don't have any specific information pertaining to cysticfibrosis, asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and juicing.
What I do want to say though is this. How you remedy these problems depends really on the individual person /situation as there can be multiple factors and reasons for these problems. As a result, each person should be reviewed on an individual basis. What works for one might not work for another. Worse yet, what works for one might cause further, additional or new problems in another!
Saying this, as I always tell people, without wholesome nutrition entering the body then the body can never have the nutritional strength needed to heal, repair itself and/or stay healthy.
Juicing is a tool that can help provide the body with valuable nutrients that while may not help directly with cystic fibrosis, asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, may provide valuable nutrients the body needs. In turn, this can thus help give the body the extra nutritional strength it needs to heal when other healing modalities are incorporated.
There are a few things you will want to consider. You will want to help the body detoxify more efficiently. One thing that significantly helps the body detoxify more efficiently is to eliminate as many toxins entering the body as possible. This means avoiding foods filled with chemicals. No more carbonated drinks as an example. If you are a smoker, it's time to stop and so on. So first look at lifestyle. It's often important to make wholesale changes in one's life or at the very least, make some improvements. Of course, we all have our guilty pleasures whether it be cheesecake, a single malt whiskey, etc. So first we must review our lifestyle.
When it comes to juicing now, we want to use vegetables that help the body detoxify more efficiently such as dandelion leaves, kale and Swiss Chard. These are not the most popular of vegetables to juice because their taste is not all that pleasant, but they do help the body detoxify. As a general rule of thumb, the more bitter the vegetable, the more of a detoxifier it is.
Start off slow though with the kale, dandelion leaves and Swiss Chard and start with only one of them at a time. Consider incorporating somecarrot juice to help with the liver and some members of the cabbage family(which includes broccoli and cauliflower) to help provide the body with antioxidants. Use some other random vegetables too.
These are some simple things you can do from a juicing point of view. But to really address these problems, you should consider looking at the deeper and underlying cause of the problems.
One of the things I highly recommend, if possible or available, is to consider consulting a traditional Chinese herbalist. If there is a Chinatown near you, then go see a Chinese herbalist and get a custom herbal formula made just for you. This method requires you to brew your own herbal tea at home using the herbs provided by the Chinese herbalist, but you will probably find this highly effective for the asthma.
I am not sure if a Chinese herbalist can help with cystic fibrosis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, but you can definitely ask. One thing is for sure, the Chinese herbalists treats the whole body and in doing so, generally speaking, other problems can become less severe even if not treated specifically.
I can't promise you will enjoy the taste of the Chinese herbal tea, but many people have been helped using Chinese herbs and asthma is one such problem that Chinese herbalists can help with.
The next thing you will want to consider is consulting a homeopathic doctor. There are literally thousands of homeopathic remedies available and you have to know which one to use. But homeopathy has helped many people with cystic fibrosis. Homeopathy is easy to use and incorporate.
I highly recommend consulting a homeopath. In fact, in 1996 when I was extremely ill with an unknown problem, it was homeopathy that brought health back to my body. This was my first real experience with homeopathy and of course, people will say it was the placebo effect. However, at that time, I didn't know much about homeopathy nor did I know what the remedy I took was supposed to do. I also was not optimistic that any benefits would be obtained since nothing else had worked and I had tried many things already. Nonetheless, after taking the homeopathic remedy and seeing a difference within days, I became a huge believer in homeopathic medicine.
Anyway, both Chinese herbalists and homeopaths are relatively speaking affordable. A Chinese herbalist is usually quite affordable because the price of the herbs also includes the consultation fee. When I visit my Chinese herbalist, I essentially pay about $35 per week for the herbs and consultation.
Next and last, you will want to consider hormonal imbalances. Consider visiting The Hormonal Nightmare. As we get older and in some cases, even at a young age, hormonal imbalances can wreak havoc on the body. But as you get older, herbs, vitamins, etc really just don't have the same impact on the body when it comes to hormonal imbalances. The simple reason why is because the body is no longer producing hormones or not enough. So the only choice is to get biologically identical hormones.
Hormonal test are really easy. I did my hormonal test with my friend, Dr. Seliski (retired ND), ND because I know he does a very thorough test. It was really easy too. All I had to do was create a saliva sample. All men and especially women above the age of 30 should consider getting the hormones tested regardless of their state of health. For those that are healthy, the test reveals baseline information (information that can be used in the future to show a doctor what your hormonal level was during your prime
. For those that are sick, the hormonal test can show imbalances and how they are possibly affecting your health.
Hormonal testing is worth the price, no doubt about it. But many health care professionals do not do sufficient or an adequate number of tests. This is especially true for women.
If there is a hormonal imbalance, someone like Dr. Seliski (retired ND) can help.
Have you been wanting to do hatha yoga (stretching) but have found it either too difficult or you are not that flexible? If yes, and even if no, watch Jesse do some pure hatha yoga routines.
Unlike flow yoga
, each pose in pure or traditional hatha yoga is held for a few minutes. While holding the pose, you focus the mind on the stretch. When you focus the mind, that's when you find silence.
Jesse is not flexible — never has been and probably never will be flexible like others. But it doesn't matter. In pure hatha yoga, how flexible you are makes no difference. It's all about loving the pose and focussing the mind on the stretch.
If you want to learn pure hatha yoga, now you can by following Jesse on a series of hatha yoga routines.
